In this era of diminishing opportunities, the successful are those that amass the broadest educations, the broadest experiences, and the broadest networks; those that work the most, save the most, and risk the most; and those that have the best skills, make the best choices, and generate the best ideas. More than anything, however, the triumphant are those that have options in life: the option to leave one job for another, and to replace one source of income for another. Options give you stability and security, peace and prosperity – and they give you possibilities, the possibility to do something different, and to be someone different.

In the end, we cannot do everything, but we can at least do something. We can build a reputation and establish a legacy of a person who is a decent and honorable person, who tries to do what is good and what is right, and who is willing to sacrifice all with the hope to make something better. At the end of our days, there are few better descriptions of an employee, a person, and a life other than they tried to do something good with what they had, and that they made a difference with their time on the Earth.
